Engine System Solutions
The belt drive components that run inside and around an engine: camshaft timing belts, accessory drive belts, tensioners, idlers and damping elements. They set valve timing and drive every belt-driven auxiliary on the engine. SES holds the range as an authorised JK Fenner distributor, covering timing belt profiles Trapezoidal and curvilinear tooth forms; accessory belts Multi-ribbed profiles for front end drives; tension members Glass and aramid cord by application; facings Nylon and specialty fabric tooth facings. Executions include camshaft timing belts, belt-in-oil timing belts, multi-ribbed accessory drive belts, automatic and manual tensioners, among others. It is specified most often into camshaft timing drives on petrol and diesel engines and alternator, water pump and compressor accessory drives. Every part is genuine JK Fenner through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Engine System Solutions in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means camshaft timing drives on petrol and diesel engines, alternator, water pump and compressor accessory drives, oil pump and balancer shaft drives, and equally tractor and off-highway engine front end drives, genset engine auxiliary drives, two and three wheeler engine drives. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — drives: Camshaft timing and front end accessories. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the JK Fenner range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Timing belt is being replaced at scheduled interval — Replace tensioner and idler pulleys in the same operation. A tired tensioner bearing takes the new belt out well before its rated interval and the labour is already paid for. Belt runs in an oil-wetted cavity by design — A belt-in-oil construction with the correct facing. A dry-running belt compound in oil swells, the tooth profile grows and it jumps a tooth. Accessory belt squeals on cold start but is correctly tensioned — Check pulley alignment and the decoupler on the alternator before blaming the belt. Misalignment across a multi-ribbed drive wears one rib flank and the noise returns with each new belt. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Set timing belt tension with the engine at the specified crank position and cold, then rotate two full turns by hand and re-check the marks. Tension read on a warm engine or after part of a turn reads high and the belt ends up slack in service.
