The High Tech line covers inline A and single-stage AR/1 and CAM units, parallel shaft P, PE and long-centre-distance PL, shaft-mounted PT, and bevel helical O and skew bevel SM. The Industrial RX series runs heavier: universal parallel RXP 700, high-torque RXP 800, bevel helical RXO/700 and RXO/800, and duty-built units for extruders, lifting, cooling towers, bucket elevators, mixers and mining, the RXMaster among them. Heavy-duty work is covered by the EX planetary family, including slewing EX/V and bevel helical EXB and EXR. The Standard line holds worm gearboxes R, U, RR, CR and W with torque limiters and WMF variators, and the Electronic line adds ESV inverters.

The gear form decides the life, not the ratio.
A ratio can be met by several gear forms, and they are not equivalent. Worm gearing is compact, quiet and inherently self-locking at high ratios, but efficiency falls as the ratio rises and the lost power leaves as heat. Helical and bevel-helical trains are far more efficient and carry more torque per kilogram, which is why the RX series is built that way for continuous industrial duty. Planetary trains share load across several planets, giving the highest torque density in the smallest envelope — the reason the EX family handles slewing, mining and heavy lifting. STM covers all three, so selection can follow the duty cycle rather than whatever a supplier happens to stock.
Thermal capacity is the limit most drives hit first.
Gearboxes are usually selected on torque and then fail on heat. Continuous running, high ambient temperature, high-ratio worm gearing or an enclosed installation will all push a unit past its thermal rating long before the teeth are in any danger — and the symptom is a cooked oil seal, degraded lubricant and bearings that go first. STM publishes mechanical and thermal ratings for its ranges and builds explicitly cooled variants where the duty demands it, such as the RXP 800/CR for air-cooled condensers and the RXO/TR for cooling towers. Give us the duty cycle, ambient and mounting position alongside the torque, and the unit gets sized for both.
