Oil Seals
Rotary shaft seals compounded and moulded for industrial duty. The seal decides how long the lubricant stays clean, which in practice decides how long the bearing behind it survives. SES holds the range as an authorised JK Fenner distributor, covering shaft range 6 mm to 400 mm, metric and inch; compounds NBR, HNBR, FKM (Viton), ACM, silicone, PTFE; temperature −40 °C to +180 °C by compound; surface speed To 25 m/s depending on material and finish. Executions include single lip oil seals, double lip oil seals with dust lip, rubber-covered OD seals, PTFE lip seals, among others. It is specified most often into gearbox input and output shafts and pump and blower bearing housings. Every part is genuine JK Fenner through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Oil Seals in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means gearbox input and output shafts, pump and blower bearing housings, rice mill huller and roll shafts, and equally sugar and tea plant drive assemblies, crusher and screen bearing housings, vehicle wheel ends and axle hubs. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — materials: NBR, HNBR, FKM, ACM, silicone. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the JK Fenner range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Abrasive dust or fibre outside the housing — A double-lip seal with an outboard dust lip; a single lip will pass fines straight into the grease. Running above 100 °C, or on synthetic oil — FKM. Nitrile hardens at temperature, loses lip load and starts weeping within weeks. Shaft grooved where the old lip ran — A wear sleeve, or a seal of different section width so the new lip runs on unworn material. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Bring the old seal, or give us shaft OD × bore OD × width. Guessing any one of the three from a drawing is how the wrong seal gets fitted and the housing gets stripped a second time. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the JK Fenner equivalent and stock position.
