Pneumatic Hoses
Flexible air lines linking vehicles and moving assemblies in the brake and auxiliary circuits. They have to stay supple in winter, resist ozone and ballast chafe underframe, and keep the burst margin the brake system is designed around. SES holds the range as an authorised JK Fenner distributor, covering bore sizes Brake pipe, feed pipe and small auxiliary bores; reinforcement Textile braid or spiral plies; tube compound Air and oil-mist resistant; cover Ozone and abrasion resistant. Executions include brake pipe hose assemblies, feed pipe hose assemblies, brake cylinder flexible connections, auxiliary and door air hoses, among others. It is specified most often into inter-vehicle brake pipe and feed pipe couplings and brake cylinder flexible connections. Every part is genuine JK Fenner through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Pneumatic Hoses in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means inter-vehicle brake pipe and feed pipe couplings, brake cylinder flexible connections, bogie-to-body air lines, and equally door and horn air supply lines, compressor discharge flexibles, sanding gear supply lines. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — service: Compressed air, brake and auxiliary circuits. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the JK Fenner range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Hose crosses between bogie and body and flexes on every curve — Enough free length for the hose to loop rather than pull. Fitted short, it works the crimp loose and then leaks at the ferrule instead of the tube. Route passes where ballast strike and rubbing are likely — An abrasion-resistant cover, or add a spiral guard. The cover is the only thing standing between flying ballast and the reinforcement plies. The assembly carries a safety-critical brake signal — A factory-crimped assembly with a proof-test record. Field-clamped ends do not reproduce the pull-off strength the specification assumes. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Date-code hose stock and rotate it through the store. Rubber ages on the shelf as surely as it does on the vehicle, and a hose that has sat unused for years cracks in the first cold spell after fitting.
