Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Mount carries a heavy underslung box exposed to track shock — A compression-loaded mount with an interlocked metal fail-safe. A pure shear mount that debonds in service drops the box onto the track. Isolation must work below a known equipment running frequency — A mount whose natural frequency sits at or below a third of the excitation frequency. Anything closer amplifies the input instead of attenuating it. Environment includes ozone, direct sun and oil drip — An EPDM or chloroprene grade. Natural rubber damps better but crazes early once ozone gets at the exposed surface.
