Water Pumps

Engine coolant pumps for tracked vehicle powerpacks. They have to move coolant against a high system head at low road speeds where there is almost no ram air, and the mechanical face seal is usually what fails first. SES holds the range as an authorised JK Fenner distributor, covering type Centrifugal engine coolant pump; drive Belt pulley or gear drive per engine; seal Mechanical face seal vented to a weep hole; bearing Sealed shaft bearing unit. Executions include belt-driven coolant pumps, gear-driven coolant pumps, seal and bearing repair kits, impeller and shaft assemblies, among others. It is specified most often into main battle tank powerpack cooling circuits and infantry combat vehicle engine cooling. Every part is genuine JK Fenner through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.

You will find Water Pumps in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means main battle tank powerpack cooling circuits, infantry combat vehicle engine cooling, armoured recovery vehicle engines, and equally auxiliary power unit cooling, powerpack overhaul and test lines, field replacement and repair kits. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — duty: Coolant circulation at high load, low road speed. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the JK Fenner range and confirm what is in stock.

Specify it against the duty.

Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Coolant temperature climbs under sustained cross-country load — Flow rating checked against system head across the idle-to-mid speed band. A pump matched only at rated rpm under-delivers precisely when the vehicle is working hardest. Fleet has moved to a long-life inhibited coolant — Seal faces and elastomers proved on that formulation. Some inhibitor packages attack the elastomer behind the face, and the pump fails with the faces still unworn. Weep hole shows a persistent drip — Replace the pump or fit the full seal-and-bearing kit. By the time coolant appears at the weep hole it has already reached the bearing grease. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.

Flush the cooling system before a new pump goes on. Old coolant carrying casting sand and rust scours a fresh face seal within hours, and the replacement pump then takes the blame for a system problem.
