Alignment Tools
Laser shaft alignment systems, belt alignment tools and geometric measurement instruments used to set a machine train true. Misalignment loads bearings and seals continuously, and it is the failure cause most often designed into a machine during installation. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering systems Laser shaft alignment, belt alignment, geometric measurement; measurement modes Standard coupling, spacer shaft, vertical and flange mounted; display Live values with shim and lateral move guidance; extra functions Soft foot, thermal growth targets, tolerance check. Executions include laser shaft alignment systems, belt and pulley alignment tools, geometric and flatness measurement systems, shim kits in stainless steel, among others. It is specified most often into pump and motor sets after overhaul or reinstallation and fan and blower drive trains on boiler and kiln plant. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Alignment Tools in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means pump and motor sets after overhaul or reinstallation, fan and blower drive trains on boiler and kiln plant, gearbox to motor couplings on mill and crusher drives, and equally belt drives on compressors and conveyor heads, machine base and rail flatness checks during installation. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — measures: Shaft offset and angularity, belt and pulley alignment. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Machine that runs significantly hotter than ambient in service — Alignment set with thermal growth offsets entered as targets, or measurement carried out hot. A train aligned perfectly cold and left there is misaligned for every operating hour. Machines with long spacer or cardan shafts between them — An alignment system that supports spacer shaft mode. Standard short-coupling calculations give the wrong correction values on a spacer, and the readings will not converge. Belt-driven machine with repeated belt edge wear or flank failure — A pulley alignment tool that checks both offset and angular error at the sheave faces. A straight edge across two pulleys of different width reports a fault that does not exist and misses the one that does. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Keep the before and after report for every alignment job and file it against the machine. When the same coupling fails again in six months, that record is the only way to tell whether the alignment moved or was never right in the first place.
