Automotive Seals
The automotive sealing range covers what keeps oil in and road contamination out on vehicles and mobile plant. It is grouped by where the seal lives: around bearings, on the driveline, in the engine, and in body assemblies. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering sub-groups Bearing seals, body seals, driveline seals, engine seals; materials NBR, HNBR, ACM, FKM, PTFE, thermoplastic elastomers; temperature Cold-start extremes to sustained engine bay heat; media Engine oil, gear oil, grease, coolant, road water and dust. Executions include bearing seals, body seals, driveline seals, engine seals. It is specified most often into tipper and haul truck fleets at a mine or quarry and cement bulker and transit mixer chassis maintenance. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Automotive Seals in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means tipper and haul truck fleets at a mine or quarry, cement bulker and transit mixer chassis maintenance, plant workshop overhaul of loaders, dozers and dumpers, and equally tractor and harvester servicing in an agro belt, fleet workshops running long-haul trailers, generator sets and stationary engine installations. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — groups: Bearing, body, driveline and engine seals. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. The leak is at a wheel end and the hub is a sealed unit — Look at the bearing seals group. The seal is often integral to the unit and the whole hub is the replacement item. Oil is coming from a shaft exit on the gearbox or axle — The driveline seals group. Match the seal to the shaft and check the shaft track for a wear groove before refitting. The leak is at the crankshaft or camshaft end — The engine seals group, which is built for crankcase pressure and hot oil. A general shaft seal will not survive there. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
On mine and quarry fleets, most seal replacements are really contamination failures. If a seal keeps going at one position, look at what is spraying or blasting at it before you change the part number.
