Recheck the load, because the composite housing is rated below the cast iron unit of the same bore. Housing is bolted down onto a steel frame with steel bolts — Use the correct washer and torque for a polymer housing. Torquing to cast iron figures crushes the mounting boss and the housing splits from the bolt hole outward. The shaft or the process runs warm — Compare the process temperature with the polymer limit before ordering. Composite housings creep at temperatures a cast iron housing shrugs off, and the bore goes oval slowly. Do not heat a composite housing to fit or free anything, and keep them away from cutting and welding work. A splash of weld spatter melts a pocket into the housing wall and the crack starts from that spot every time.
