Bearing Accessories
The sleeves, nuts and washers that get a bearing onto a shaft and hold it there. Most premature bearing failures in plant trace back to something in this group being wrong, missing, or fitted by feel. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering shaft range About 20 mm to over 1000 mm across the group; sleeve tapers 1:12 standard, 1:30 on large spherical bearings; nut sizes Metric KM/HM style and inch equivalents; locking methods Tab washer, keyway, locking pins, and integral clamping. Executions include adapter sleeves, withdrawal sleeves, lock nuts, lock nuts requiring a keyway, among others. It is specified most often into conveyor pulley shafts in plummer block arrangements and fan and blower shafts on plain drawn stock. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Bearing Accessories in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means conveyor pulley shafts in plummer block arrangements, fan and blower shafts on plain drawn stock, mill and crusher shafts with stepped journals, and equally pump and gearbox shafts with threaded seats, machine tool spindle assemblies, agitator and mixer shafts in process plant. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — covers: Adapter sleeves, withdrawal sleeves, lock nuts. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. The bearing has a tapered bore and the shaft is plain, with no shoulder — An adapter sleeve with its nut and locking device. The sleeve provides the taper and the clamping, and no interference fit machining is needed on the shaft. The shaft is stepped and the bearing seats against a shoulder — A withdrawal sleeve, which is driven into the gap and pulled out again for removal. An adapter sleeve on a stepped shaft has nothing to react against on dismounting. The bearing sits on a cylindrical seat and only needs axial retention — A lock nut with the matching locking device. The nut is not a mounting tool for a cylindrical bore bearing — it holds position, it does not create the fit. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Stock the locking washer with the nut and the nut with the sleeve. A shutdown crew that finds a sleeve in stores without its tab washer will improvise with a punch mark, and the nut will back off on the first thermal cycle.
