Bearing Seals
These are the seals built into or fitted alongside vehicle bearings — wheel hubs, clutch release units, water pumps, kingpins and universal joints. They protect a small grease charge that will never be replenished in service. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering sub-types Clutch release, hub unit, kingpin, universal joint, water pump, encoder; materials NBR, HNBR, FKM, thermoplastic with steel cases; temperature Cold start to sustained brake and engine bay heat; lubricant Long-life lithium and lithium complex greases. Executions include clutch release bearing seals, hub bearing unit seals, kingpin seals, universal joint seals, among others. It is specified most often into wheel ends on tippers and mine haul trucks and clutch release units on commercial vehicles. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Bearing Seals in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means wheel ends on tippers and mine haul trucks, clutch release units on commercial vehicles, water pump bearings on diesel engines and gensets, and equally steering kingpin assemblies on heavy trucks, propshaft universal joints on off-road plant, trailer axle hubs in long-haul fleets. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — protects: Grease-for-life bearing arrangements. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. The vehicle is pressure-washed regularly — A cassette-type seal with a rotating counterface. Simple lip seals let a jet lance force water straight past the lip and into the grease. The wheel end is fitted with an ABS or wheel speed sensor — The encoder-equipped variant of the same seal. A visually identical plain seal will fit and the fault light will never clear. The machine wades through slurry or standing water — A multi-lip exclusion arrangement. One lip is a single point of failure when the seal is submerged for part of every shift. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Handle encoder seals by the case, never by the black magnetised face. Fingers, magnets and steel swarf on that surface corrupt the signal even when the seal itself is perfect. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the SKF equivalent and stock position.
