Bushings and Hubs
The clamping interface between a shaft and a pulley, sprocket or coupling. A tapered bush grips by conical wedging, so one wheel suits several bore sizes and comes off again without heat or a puller. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering bush series 1008 through 5050 and larger; bore range Roughly 9 mm to 125 mm across the series; screws Grub or cap screws to a stated torque, metric and imperial; materials Grey cast iron; steel on locking assemblies. Executions include taper bushes, QD bushings, adapter sleeves for straight shafts, keyless locking assemblies, among others. It is specified most often into fan and blower drives among power plant auxiliaries and conveyor drive pulleys in port handling. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Bushings and Hubs in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means fan and blower drives among power plant auxiliaries, conveyor drive pulleys in port handling, mixer and agitator drives in chemical plants, and equally pump drive ends in water treatment, crusher drive shafts, bucket elevator drive sprockets. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — grip: Conical wedge from screw tightening. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Component has to be repositioned axially along the shaft — A taper bush. It releases and re-clamps anywhere on a plain shaft without machining a fresh keyway. Torque is beyond what a keyed taper bush will hold — A keyless locking assembly. It grips the full circumference instead of concentrating the whole load in one keyway corner. Shaft end is scored or oversize from a previous fit — Measure before ordering. A bush drawn onto a damaged seat will not sit square and the wheel then runs out. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Pull the bush screws down in stages and in rotation, to the torque stamped on the flange. One-shot tightening of a single screw cants the bush in its seat, and the wheel then wobbles no matter how much belt tension you add.
