Cam Followers
Stud-type track rollers: a threaded stud carries the inner raceway, and the thick outer ring rolls on the cam or track. Because they bolt into a single plate, they suit positions where there is access from one side only. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering series KR, KRV, NUKR, PWKR and related stud types; outside diameter Approximately 13 mm to 90 mm; stud Threaded, with hexagon or screwdriver slot; rolling elements Needle rollers, caged or full complement. Executions include cam followers with cylindrical outer ring, cam followers with crowned outer ring, full complement cam followers, sealed cam followers, among others. It is specified most often into cam mechanisms on automatic packaging and labelling machines and guide rollers on gantry and travelling column machines. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Cam Followers in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means cam mechanisms on automatic packaging and labelling machines, guide rollers on gantry and travelling column machines, chain tensioner rollers on conveying plant, and equally door and gate guides on furnace and shot blast enclosures, linear slide guides on cutting and profiling tables, cam drives on rotary indexing benches. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — type: Stud type, threaded shank with locknut. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Load is high and the stud protrudes some distance from the plate — Calculate the bending moment on the stud, not just the radial rating. Studs shear at the thread root, and the roller itself is usually undamaged when it comes off. The follower must be set to a track that is not perfectly parallel — Use the eccentric collar version so it can be dialled in on assembly. Shimming behind the plate instead tilts the roller and the outer ring runs on one edge. The machine runs a lubrication round and the roller is buried — Order the stud drilled for grease with the port on the end face. A side-drilled stud in a blind pocket cannot be reached and the position gets skipped every time. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Tighten the stud nut to a set torque and record it. Fitters routinely run these up hand tight because the roller still spins freely, and a stud that works loose elongates the plate hole until nothing will hold it.
