Clutch Release Bearing Seals
Sealing for the release bearing that pushes the clutch diaphragm fingers. It has to keep a small grease charge in place inside a hot, dusty bellhousing while the bearing takes an axial thrust load every time the pedal moves. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering position Clutch release or throw-out bearing; motion Rotation under axial load, plus sliding on the guide; seal form Integral lip or shield, both faces; temperature Elevated bellhousing temperatures, high-temp grease. Executions include contact lip seals for dusty duty, high-temperature elastomer executions, self-centring release bearing seal arrangements, concentric slave cylinder bearing seals. It is specified most often into commercial truck and tipper clutch assemblies and bus and coach transmissions in fleet workshops. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Clutch Release Bearing Seals in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means commercial truck and tipper clutch assemblies, bus and coach transmissions in fleet workshops, tractor and harvester clutch overhauls, and equally light commercial vehicles in a plant transport pool, dumper and loader clutch packs in a mine workshop, stationary engine and genset drive clutches. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — load: Axial thrust, intermittent. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Vehicle works in stop-start hauling with heavy pedal use — A seal specified for continuous slow rotation under thrust. Bearings on this duty rarely fail from load; they fail when the grease escapes. Ambient bellhousing temperature is high from slipping clutches — A higher-temperature elastomer. Standard nitrile hardens, the lip lifts and clutch dust migrates into the grease. Clutch dust levels are heavy because of driver habits or gradients — Full contact sealing rather than a shielded arrangement. Abrasive facing dust in the grease will polish and then spall the raceways. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Check the guide sleeve and fork pivot when you change one of these. A worn fork makes the bearing run cocked, and it will chew the new seal lip regardless of how good the part is. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the SKF equivalent and stock position.
