Double Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Two rows of balls on angled raceways within a single pair of rings, equivalent to a back-to-back pair but supplied preset and ready to fit. It handles radial load with thrust in both directions and resists tilting, all in one component width. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering bore range About 10 mm to 140 mm on common series; contact angle Typically 30 to 35 degrees; inner ring One-piece or split, depending on series; series 32 and 33 dimension series. Executions include open double row bearings, shielded double row bearings, sealed double row bearings, split inner ring execution, among others. It is specified most often into fan and blower shafts with a strong one-way gas thrust and water pump and circulating pump shafts. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Double Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means fan and blower shafts with a strong one-way gas thrust, water pump and circulating pump shafts, gear pump and hydraulic pump drive ends, and equally tension rollers and dancer arms on paper and film lines, small mixer and agitator drive heads, machine tool feed screws and index tables. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — thrust: Both directions, no second bearing needed. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Space along the shaft is tight but thrust acts both ways — A double row bearing in place of two singles, since it delivers the same opposed geometry inside one set of rings. The shaft overhangs and a tilting moment is present — The double row type at the locating position, not a deep groove bearing. A single row of balls asked to resist a moment loads only two arcs of the raceway. Relubrication is impractical once the machine is built in — A sealed double row execution with a filled grease charge suited to the running temperature. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Do not clamp a double row bearing with a spacer copied from the old assembly. The internal preload is set at manufacture, and an axial clamp taken across both outer ring faces destroys it. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the SKF equivalent and stock position.
