Flanged Roller Bearing Units
The same spherical roller bearing and seal package as a pillow block, but carried in a flange housing that bolts to a vertical wall or machine face instead of sitting on a pedestal. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering flange forms Round, square and oval; shaft sizes Roughly 30 mm to 125 mm on common series; bearing Spherical roller, self-aligning; seals Lip, labyrinth or taconite. Executions include four-bolt square flange units, round flange units, two-bolt oval flange units, closed-back executions, among others. It is specified most often into fan and blower shafts mounted through a plenum wall and gearbox output shaft supports on bucket elevators. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Flanged Roller Bearing Units in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means fan and blower shafts mounted through a plenum wall, gearbox output shaft supports on bucket elevators, vertical mixer and agitator drives in chemical plant, and equally rice mill huller and paddy separator shafts, roll supports on paper machine frames, conveyor drive shafts where the frame gives no pedestal. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — mounting face: Perpendicular to the shaft. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Shaft runs vertically with the load taken through the flange — A unit rated for axial load in the direction it actually acts, and confirm the seal retains grease against gravity. A horizontal-duty unit turned vertical loses its charge downward. Flange bolts into sheet or thin plate — A four-bolt square flange to spread the load, plus a backing plate. Two-bolt oval flanges concentrate the moment into two holes and elongate them. Housing seats against a machined register on the machine face — The spigot-located flange variant, so the bore is positioned by the register rather than by bolt hole clearance. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Mark the shaft position before you slacken a flanged unit. There is no cap to lift — the shaft has to come out through the flange, and on a long conveyor drive that is a shift nobody budgeted for. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the SKF equivalent and stock position.
