Grease Spraying Systems
Metered grease or adhesive open-gear lubricant delivered through spray nozzles onto a surface that cannot be enclosed, such as a girth gear, rack or wire rope. Spraying is timed against machine rotation so the whole tooth flank gets a fresh film each pass. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering nozzle types Air-atomising and airless jet; lubricant consistency Fluid grease up to stiff adhesive compound; pump options Pneumatic barrel pump or electric piston pump; metering Progressive divider block, one outlet per nozzle. Executions include spray bars for girth gear and pinion, airless spray units for adhesive compounds, wire rope lubrication kits, chain and rack spray assemblies, among others. It is specified most often into girth gear and pinion on rotary cement kilns and open gear drives on ball and rod mills. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Grease Spraying Systems in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means girth gear and pinion on rotary cement kilns, open gear drives on ball and rod mills, slew rings and swing racks on stackers and reclaimers, and equally hoist and luffing wire ropes on port and yard cranes, chain conveyors and apron feeders in clinker handling, rack and pinion drives on continuous casting machines. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — delivery: Air-assisted or airless spray nozzles. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Adhesive open-gear lubricant with graphite or other solid fillers — Nozzles and lines sized for the filler and a pump with enough pressure ratio to move it cold. A fine orifice intended for soft grease will plug on the first winter morning. Tooth flank width greater than a single nozzle can cover — A spray bar with staggered nozzles across the full face. Coating only the centre of the flank drives the load onto dry edges and the wear steps in from both ends. Compressed air taken from a general plant ring main — A dedicated dryer, filter and regulator at the unit. Wet air breaks the spray cone into a stripe and the atomising passages corrode shut. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Set the standoff distance with the machine stationary, then check the pattern on a sheet of card held at the gear. Nozzles pushed too close lay a rope of grease on one tooth and starve the next three.
