Minimal Quantity Lubrication Systems
Lubricant is applied to the cutting or forming zone in quantities small enough that the workpiece and swarf come out dry. It replaces flood coolant where the coolant is more of a disposal problem than a process need. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering delivery rate Typically 5 to 100 ml per hour; fluids Ester-based and synthetic MQL lubricants; delivery External nozzle or through-spindle; air supply Clean dry compressed air. Executions include external nozzle units, through-tool delivery units, single channel systems, dual channel systems, among others. It is specified most often into sawing and cutting in structural fabrication and drilling and tapping on machining centres. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Minimal Quantity Lubrication Systems in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means sawing and cutting in structural fabrication, drilling and tapping on machining centres, tube and section forming lines, and equally sheet metal stamping and blanking, cold sawing of billet and bar stock, deburring and threading operations in workshops. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — principle: Near-dry machining, dosed to the zone. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Swarf disposal cost is dominated by coolant contamination — MQL sized to the tool, so swarf leaves the machine dry and goes straight for recovery instead of through a settling and disposal chain. Cut is deep and heat cannot escape with the chip — Through-tool delivery rather than external nozzles, or stay with flood coolant. MQL lubricates well but it removes very little heat. Operators report misting in the working area — A dosing head that places a droplet rather than an aerosol spray, and enclosure extraction; an over-set MQL unit becomes an air quality problem. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Set the rate by looking at the chip colour, not by the flow figure on the panel. Straw is right, blue means the operation needed coolant and MQL was the wrong choice for that cut. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the SKF equivalent and stock position.
