The shaft and housing can both be hardened and ground — A cage assembly, which uses the least radial space of any option available. Only one of the two surfaces can be hardened — A cage assembly plus an inner ring, or a machined ring bearing, depending on which surface is soft. Speed is high and the cage will be centrifugally loaded — A raceway-guided cage rather than a roller-guided one, so the cage runs on a positive reference instead of on the roller set.
