Both shaft and housing need an interference fit — This separable design, which lets the inner ring be heated onto the shaft while the outer ring is pressed into the housing separately. The machine has a floating and a fixed bearing position — An NU type at the floating end so the shaft can grow without pushing against the housing cover. Speeds are high and the cage sees acceleration — A polyamide or machined brass cage suited to the temperature, since pressed steel cages have the lowest tolerance of high-speed running.
