In practice that means fan shafts in boiler houses where the plinth is tight, shaft supports alongside gearboxes on rolling mill lines, paper machine ancillary roll ends, and equally compressor and blower drive shafts, retrofits into existing foundations with fixed bolt centres. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — shaft sizes: Roughly 55 mm to 240 mm. Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Existing foundation bolt centres cannot be moved — The SNLN footprint checked against the old drawing before ordering. A base that overhangs the plinth edge cannot be grouted properly and will work loose. Shaft has been machined with a proper bearing seat and shoulder — The cylindrical bore execution, relying on the shoulder for axial location. An adapter sleeve here only adds a second interference joint to get wrong. Bearing must be replaced with the shaft still coupled — That the cap has clearance to lift within the guarding. An SNLN inside a tight guard cage can be reached but not opened.
