Solutions for Special Applications
Lubrication packages built around one machine type rather than one system architecture: cranes, rail vehicles, wind turbines, marine machinery and food production. Each brings a constraint that decides the layout before anything else does. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering system bases Progressive, dual-line, single point, spray; media Grease, oil, adhesive open gear lubricant, dry film; environments Marine, food, hot mill, cold store, offshore; materials Carbon steel and stainless line sets. Executions include crane lubrication, rail and flange lubrication systems, wind turbine lubrication packages, marine machinery systems, among others. It is specified most often into EOT and gantry cranes in steel and fabrication shops and rail wheel flange and track lubrication. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Solutions for Special Applications in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means EOT and gantry cranes in steel and fabrication shops, rail wheel flange and track lubrication, wind turbine pitch and yaw bearings, and equally marine deck machinery and stern gear, food and beverage processing lines, open gears on kilns and mills. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — basis: Application-led, not architecture-led. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Machine moves continuously and lines must flex with it — A package with an energy chain and rated flexible hose, because a rigidly piped system on a travelling machine work-hardens and cracks at the fittings. Lubricant may contact food product — A food-grade registered package throughout, including hose and seal materials, and not merely a food-grade grease in a standard system. Equipment sits offshore or in a coastal plant — Stainless lines and fittings with a corrosion-rated pump enclosure. Carbon steel tube in salt air fails at the ferrule and nobody sees it until it drips. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ask what the machine does when the lubrication system fails, and design around that answer. On some of these applications the correct response is an alarm; on a rail flange lubricator or an open gear, it is a machine stop.
