Old block is stamped SAF but the shaft measures a nominal metric size — The replacement against the housing designation and shaft together. SAF and SNL bolt centres are not interchangeable and the base will not drop into the old holes. Load is heavy and the shaft is large — SDAF rather than SAF. The heavier section and larger cap bolts exist for exactly that step up in load. Position is in a wet or wash-down area — SAW, whose sealing and drainage arrangement suits water, and confirm the drain sits at the bottom in the as-installed orientation.
