Support Rollers
Yoke-type track rollers carried on a pin or shaft through the bore, with a thick outer ring running directly on the track. Needle or cylindrical rollers give a high radial rating in a small outside diameter. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering series STO, NATR, NUTR, PWTR and related; outside diameter Approximately 16 mm to 90 mm; element arrangement Caged or full complement; inner ring With or without inner ring by series. Executions include support rollers without inner ring, support rollers with inner ring, full complement support rollers, sealed support rollers, among others. It is specified most often into chain and belt guide rollers on conveying systems and support rollers under sliding doors and travelling screens. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Support Rollers in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means chain and belt guide rollers on conveying systems, support rollers under sliding doors and travelling screens, cam mechanism rollers in press and forming machinery, and equally guide rollers in palletiser and stacker mechanisms, web guide rollers on paper and textile machines, trolley rollers on overhead handling tracks. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — type: Yoke type, mounted on a pin through the bore. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. The pin is supported at both ends in a clevis or fork — This is the natural fit for a yoke-type roller because the pin is in double shear. Convert the same position to a stud type and the mounting hole becomes the weak point. The roller must be located axially against a moving web or chain — Fit the version with a full complement of rollers and use side washers to take the guiding load. Letting the roller ends rub on the fork faces galls both surfaces and the roller stops turning. The application needs regreasing on a fixed schedule — Specify the pin with an axial grease duct and a lubrication hole in the inner ring. Trying to grease a sealed roller through the fork just fills the clearance and does nothing for the raceway. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
The pin hardness matters as much as the roller. On a series without an inner ring the needles run directly on the pin, so a mild steel pin turned up in the workshop will be grooved within a week no matter how good the roller is.
