Test and Measuring Equipment
Shop-floor instruments that turn maintenance guesswork into numbers: laser alignment sets, tachometers, thermometers, borescopes, induction heaters and extraction tooling. Most premature bearing failures trace back to something on this list not being used. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering alignment Laser shaft and belt alignment, dial indicator sets; temperature Infrared thermometers and thermal imagers; speed Contact and optical tachometers, stroboscopes; inspection Rigid and articulating borescope probes. Executions include laser shaft alignment systems, belt and pulley alignment tools, induction bearing heaters, bearing mounting and fitting tool kits, among others. It is specified most often into motor-to-pump alignment on utility skids and belt drive alignment on fan and crusher drives. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Test and Measuring Equipment in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means motor-to-pump alignment on utility skids, belt drive alignment on fan and crusher drives, bearing mounting in the workshop fitting bay, and equally gearbox internal inspection without stripping, hot-spot checks on switchgear and motor windings, speed verification on variable frequency drives. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — covers: Alignment, temperature, speed, inspection, fitting. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Alignment is still done with a straight edge and feeler gauges — A laser shaft alignment set. Straight-edge methods routinely leave enough offset to halve coupling and bearing life. Bearing has to go onto an interference-fit shaft — An induction heater with a temperature probe and automatic demagnetisation. Never a flame, and never an open oil bath in a dusty shop. Gear or bearing damage is suspected inside a sealed housing — A borescope through the inspection port. Opening a gearbox to look costs a day and gives dirt a fresh chance to get in. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Calibrate the alignment laser and check the heater probe once a year, and keep the certificate with the tool. A drifted instrument is worse than no instrument, because everybody trusts the number it prints.
