Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. The roller is bolted into a plate or bracket from one side only — Use a stud type cam follower. Trying to hang a yoke-type support roller off a cantilevered pin loads the pin in bending and the thread pulls out of the plate. The track is a flat plate and alignment cannot be held perfectly — Take the crowned outer ring. A cylindrical roller on a slightly skewed flat track loads on one edge and the outer ring flakes along that edge within weeks. The track is a machined groove or a rail with a matching radius — Use the cylindrical profile to spread the load across the full width. A crowned roller in a matched groove concentrates the contact in the centre and wears a channel into the rail.
