Trunnion Bearing Housings for Grinding Mills
Very large housings that carry the trunnion of a ball, rod or SAG mill. They take the mill shell and charge weight, turn at low speed under enormous load, and are arranged for a lubrication supply rather than a grease nipple. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering application Ball, rod, SAG and AG mill trunnions; bearing Large-bore spherical roller; bore sizes Several hundred millimetres upward; materials Cast steel and fabricated executions. Executions include FSDR..K series housings, located and free (sliding) executions, circulating oil arrangements, housings with jacking oil provision, among others. It is specified most often into cement ball mill trunnions and coal pulveriser and tube mill trunnions. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Trunnion Bearing Housings for Grinding Mills in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means cement ball mill trunnions, coal pulveriser and tube mill trunnions, SAG and AG mill trunnion supports in mineral plants, and equally rod mill trunnions in ore beneficiation, lime and slag grinding mill supports. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — load: Mill shell plus charge, very heavy. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Mill turns at low speed under very high load — Lubrication first and the housing second. At trunnion speeds the oil film is marginal, and the supply arrangement decides bearing life more than housing choice does. Mill shell grows thermally along its axis — One housing located and the other free to slide on its base plate, with the slide faces maintained. A seized slide plate puts axial load straight into the bearing. Slurry or mill product can reach the trunnion — A labyrinth with a positive air or grease barrier. Slurry entry at a trunnion is not a lubrication problem, it is a bearing change with the mill emptied. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Treat a trunnion bearing change as a project rather than a maintenance job. Rigging access, mill jacking, oil system flushing and the lead time on a bearing that size all have to line up, and the housing is usually the least of it.
