FSDR..K Series
FSDR..K is the dedicated trunnion housing execution for grinding mills, taking a large spherical roller bearing on a tapered seat with the sealing and oil arrangement the duty demands. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering series FSDR..K; seat form Tapered bore bearing; bore sizes Several hundred millimetres and above; material Cast steel. Executions include FSDR..K located executions, FSDR..K free (sliding) executions, circulating oil arrangements, housings with temperature monitoring provision, among others. It is specified most often into cement mill trunnion supports and ore grinding mill trunnions in beneficiation plants. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find FSDR..K Series in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means cement mill trunnion supports, ore grinding mill trunnions in beneficiation plants, coal mill trunnion bearings in power stations, and equally limestone and slag mill supports, wet grinding mill trunnions in mineral processing. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — bearing seat: Tapered (K designation). If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Bearing is being mounted on the tapered trunnion seat — Drive-up against measured clearance reduction, and record the figure in the job file. That record is what tells the next crew whether the seat has been over-driven before. Oil comes from a shared lubrication unit — Flow and temperature monitoring at the housing itself, not only at the pump skid. A blocked feed line still reads as normal pressure at the pump. Mill has a history of trunnion seal leakage — The seal arrangement together with the trunnion surface condition. New seals on a grooved trunnion will leak again within weeks. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Have the trunnion seat measured and mapped for taper and roundness before the bearing is ordered. Mills that have run for decades carry worn seats, and a new bearing pushed onto a bell-mouthed taper contacts on a narrow band and spalls from there.
