Wellhead Seals
Static and dynamic sealing elements for wellhead and pressure control equipment. They hold well pressure across hanger, spool and stem interfaces in media that attack ordinary elastomers. SES holds the range as an authorised SKF distributor, covering pressure Well pressure ratings per the equipment specification; temperature From ambient sub-zero to elevated well temperature; materials HNBR, FKM, FFKM, PTFE and engineered thermoplastics; service Sour service qualified grades where H2S is present. Executions include hanger seal assemblies, packoff elements, stem packing sets, sour service executions, among others. It is specified most often into casing and tubing hanger seal assemblies and packoff and secondary seal positions. Every part is genuine SKF through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Wellhead Seals in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means casing and tubing hanger seal assemblies, packoff and secondary seal positions, valve stem packing on trees and manifolds, and equally spool and adapter flange interfaces, blowout preventer sealing components, injection and disposal wellhead assemblies. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — duty: Well pressure containment. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the SKF range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Sealing surface has been damaged in the field — Repair the surface or fit a design that seals on a different band. A new element across a scratch simply reproduces the leak path. Bore and hanger tolerances stack toward maximum clearance — An element with integral anti-extrusion support. At well pressure a nominal-clearance design has no margin left when the gap is at its limit. The assembly is set with a defined make-up load — Energise to that figure, not by feel. Under-energised elements leak and over-energised ones extrude, and both look identical from outside. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Keep the elastomer components in their original sealed packaging until the moment of assembly and check the cure date. Shelf life on high-specification compounds is real, and an out-of-date element is not worth the rig time to fit.
