Centreless Grinding
Round parts are ground without centres or chucking: the work sits on a blade between a grinding wheel and a regulating wheel. Throughput is high because nothing has to be loaded into a fixture — parts feed through continuously. SES holds the range as an authorised Tyrolit distributor, covering wheel diameters Commonly 350 mm to 700 mm on production machines; wheel widths Up to around 500 mm for through-feed; part diameters Well under 1 mm on fine work up to well over 100 mm; abrasives Aluminium oxide, ceramic grain, silicon carbide, CBN. Executions include through-feed grinding wheels, in-feed and plunge grinding wheels, regulating wheels, rubber bond, regulating wheels, vitrified bond, among others. It is specified most often into bearing rollers and inner ring outside diameters and hydraulic piston rods and pins. Every part is genuine Tyrolit through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Centreless Grinding in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means bearing rollers and inner ring outside diameters, hydraulic piston rods and pins, injector and valve components on automotive lines, and equally bright bar and calibrated shafting, textile spindles and small precision shafts, dowel pins and fastener blanks in bulk. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — work holding: None — blade and regulating wheel. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the Tyrolit range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Long plain shafts fed straight through the gap — Through-feed with a canted, hyperboloid-dressed regulating wheel. A straight-dressed regulating wheel will not pull the bar and the feed stalls. Part carries a shoulder, taper or form — In-feed plunge grinding with the form dressed into both wheels. Through-feeding a stepped part cocks it on the blade and puts a spiral into the finish. Roundness drifting into a lobed pattern — Blade angle and work centre height, checked before any change of wheel spec. Odd-lobed patterns come from geometry, not from grain. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
The regulating wheel is a consumable with a specification of its own, and it is the item most plants forget to order. When roundness and feed rate go off together, it is usually the regulating wheel that has worn out of shape.
