Cut-off Wheels
Thin bonded wheels for sectioning bar, plate, pipe and section. Cutting speed and cut quality are set by the grain and bond, not by pressing harder — a correctly specified wheel cuts under its own weight. SES holds the range as an authorised Tyrolit distributor, covering diameters 100, 115, 125, 180, 230, 300, 350, 400 mm; thickness 1.0, 1.6, 1.9, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 mm; bore 22.23 mm standard; 25.4 mm and 32 mm on large wheels; grain Aluminium oxide, zirconia, ceramic, silicon carbide. Executions include cut-off wheels for steel, cut-off wheels for stainless steel (INOX), cut-off wheels for cast iron, cut-off wheels for aluminium and non-ferrous, among others. It is specified most often into structural steel cutting on fabrication floors and pipe and tube sectioning for spool work. Every part is genuine Tyrolit through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Cut-off Wheels in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means structural steel cutting on fabrication floors, pipe and tube sectioning for spool work, rebar and mesh cutting on site, and equally foundry runner and riser removal, stainless fabrication in food and pharma plant, railway and wagon repair shops. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — operation: Freehand and stationary cutting. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the Tyrolit range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Stainless steel or any duplex grade — An iron-, sulphur- and chlorine-free wheel. Ordinary wheels contaminate the surface and it rusts along the cut afterwards. Thin-wall tube or sheet where burr matters — The thinnest wheel the machine allows — 1.0 to 1.6 mm — for lower heat input and minimal burr. Heavy solid section on a stationary chop saw — A thicker, harder-bond wheel that will take the side load without deflecting in the cut. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Check the expiry date stamped on the wheel. Resin bond has a shelf life of three years from manufacture and an out-of-date wheel is a burst risk regardless of how it looks. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the Tyrolit equivalent and stock position.
