Heavily reinforced structural concrete — A wet bit on a rig with a reinforcement-rated segment; hand-held dry drilling will stall on the first bar. No water permitted — occupied or finished areas — A dry bit with dust extraction and a vented body, and withdraw regularly to clear the core. Small diameter through tile or a finished surface — A tile-specific bit with a guide, to stop the bit walking and chipping the glaze.
