Belts and flap products cost considerably more per kilogramme of metal removed. Finish matters as much as removal rate — Coated abrasives - belts, fibre discs or flap discs. Bonded wheels remove well but leave a coarse faceted surface behind. Confined internal features, radii and slots — Mounted points on a straight grinder. Any disc product fouls the walls and cuts where it was never meant to.
