Milling
Rotary tools that remove metal with defined cutting edges rather than with abrasive grain. Fitted to die grinders and flexible shafts, they take stock off fast on work where a grinding wheel would load up or burn the surface. SES holds the range as an authorised Tyrolit distributor, covering head materials Tungsten carbide, HSS; cut patterns Single cut, double cut, non-ferrous, coarse chip breaker; head forms Cylindrical, ball nose, ball, tree, cone, arc, flame; head diameters Roughly 3 mm to 25 mm. Executions include tungsten carbide burrs, single cut, tungsten carbide burrs, double cut, non-ferrous and aluminium cut burrs, coated carbide burrs for hardened material, among others. It is specified most often into dressing weld caps on fabricated structures before painting and removing runners, risers and gate marks from steel castings. Every part is genuine Tyrolit through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Milling in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means dressing weld caps on fabricated structures before painting, removing runners, risers and gate marks from steel castings, chamfering plate edges ahead of full-penetration welds, and equally rework of press tools and die cavities in the tool room, opening out cored holes and radii in pump and valve bodies, deburring machined housings on the assembly line. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — cutting action: Defined edge, chip forming. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the Tyrolit range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Soft, gummy material such as aluminium or copper — An open single-cut geometry with chip breakers. A fine double-cut head packs solid inside a minute and then rubs and smears instead of cutting. Hardened weld deposit or chilled cast iron — A carbide burr rated for hard material, run at the top of its speed band. Softer edges roll over on the first pass and the tool is scrap. Overhead or extended-reach work off a flexible shaft — The shortest shank that will reach. Long shanks whip, and whip is what snaps the shank at the neck. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Burrs cut on the periphery, not on the nose. Operators who push the point into the work chip the head and then blame the tool; hold it at a shallow angle and let the flutes shear the metal. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the Tyrolit equivalent and stock position.
