Rail Maintenance
Abrasive tools for grinding and cutting rail in track — weld dressing, corrugation removal and rail cutting. The work happens inside a possession, so the tool has to finish the job in the time allowed. SES holds the range as an authorised Tyrolit distributor, covering cutting disc diameters Commonly 350 mm to 400 mm for rail; grinding wheel forms Cup wheels and straight wheels for rail machines; abrasives Zirconia alumina and aluminium oxide blends; bond Reinforced resinoid. Executions include rail cutting discs, rail weld grinding cup wheels, corrugation grinding wheels, switch and crossing grinding wheels, among others. It is specified most often into dressing aluminothermic and flash-butt welds in track and removing corrugation and short-pitch waves from the railhead. Every part is genuine Tyrolit through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Rail Maintenance in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means dressing aluminothermic and flash-butt welds in track, removing corrugation and short-pitch waves from the railhead, switch and crossing repair grinding, and equally cutting rail to length for insertion of a new panel, metro and depot siding maintenance, crane rail and industrial siding grinding inside plants. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — location: In track, under possession. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the Tyrolit range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Head-hardened or bainitic rail — A wheel executed for hard rail. General-purpose wheels glaze on head-hardened steel and the possession expires before the weld is dressed. Weld dressing where the profile must match the parent rail — A profiled cup wheel on a weld trimmer plus a finishing pass. A flat-ground weld leaves a dip that becomes a hammering point under traffic. Cutting rail in a hot possession with no water available — A large-diameter dry rail cutting disc rated for the machine, and one steady pass. Pausing mid-cut lets the rail close and pinch the disc. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Order against the possession date, not against the month. Rail work fails on logistics far more often than on abrasive performance, and a wheel sitting in the depot store while the gang stands on track has cost more than the whole consignment.
