You will find Spiral Belts in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means finishing bores and openings in machined components, deburring internal edges on fabricated brackets, radius work on dies and forming tools, and equally cleaning up flame-cut holes in plate, finishing weld edges inside box sections, blending internal fillets on castings. Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. Sleeve slipping or walking off the drum — Match the sleeve exactly to the drum size and check the rubber has not perished. A hardened drum never expands enough to grip properly. Fine finish required inside a bore — A fine grit on a softer drum. Hard drums leave a chatter pattern that no fine grit will hide afterwards. Heavy removal on a hardened surface — A ceramic or zirconia sleeve on a hard drum, with the workpiece properly supported. Unsupported work rings and the sleeve skips across it. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.
