An over-soft holder lets the rim flex and it breaks away in chunks. Contoured surface with changing curvature — A semi-flexible holder with a smaller disc. Large rigid discs bridge the contour and cut flats into it. Automated cell running unattended — Check adhesion at every tool change and match holder retention to the cycle. A disc that lets go at working speed damages the fixture, not just the part.
