Surface Conditioning
The group that sits between grinding and polishing: non-woven discs, unitised wheels, flap wheels, belts and hand pads. These products cut lightly and follow the shape of the work, so they blend and finish without altering dimensions. SES holds the range as an authorised Tyrolit distributor, covering sub-groups Non-woven discs, unitised wheels, flap wheels, belts, pads; grades Coarse, medium, very fine, ultra fine; grains Aluminium oxide, silicon carbide, ceramic; backings Fibre, cloth, quick-change button. Executions include non-woven surface conditioning discs, unitised wheels, flap wheels, surface conditioning belts, among others. It is specified most often into weld dressing on stainless vessels and storage tanks and satin finishing of dairy and pharma pipework. Every part is genuine Tyrolit through official channels, with designation, specification and options confirmed against your duty before it ships — supplied from Kolkata and our branch network, with breakdown cover that does not sit in an inbox.

Where it runs.
You will find Surface Conditioning in the parts of a plant where this particular duty actually occurs. In practice that means weld dressing on stainless vessels and storage tanks, satin finishing of dairy and pharma pipework, deburring machined edges in the tool room, and equally removing heat tint after TIG welding, cleaning shafts and journals at overhaul without losing size, panel and edge preparation in workshop fabrication. What links them is the duty rather than the machine name — purpose: Blend, deburr, clean, finish. If your installation is not on that list it matters less than you would think: the operating condition decides the specification. Send us the load, the speed, the running temperature and the environment it runs in, and we will match it to the right execution in the Tyrolit range and confirm what is in stock.
Specify it against the duty.
Specification here follows the operating condition, not the catalogue. A proud weld cap has to come down before finishing — A coated flap disc first, then non-woven. Web products alone load and glaze against a raised weld and hours disappear for nothing. Edge deburring where the corner radius must stay tight — A unitised wheel in place of a flap wheel. Flap cloth conforms and rounds the corner over as it works. One uniform satin finish across a large panel — Conditioning belts on a linisher so the scratch pattern runs in a single direction. Hand-held discs leave swirls that show through any coating. Where two of those apply at once, specify for the harsher of the two — under-specifying is what puts the part back on the bench a month later. Send us the duty and we will confirm the execution.

Ordering this from SES.
Grade names are not grit numbers. A very fine web does not follow a P120 flap disc cleanly, so agree the scratch progression with us before you standardise a sequence for a repeat job. Send the designation off the failed part and we will confirm the Tyrolit equivalent and stock position.
